Gossiping

Nodes tell each other about the Lightning Network in a process called Gossiping. Information about nodes and edges (channels) are gossiped. You get gossip information from your peers, and send to your peers, too.
A node that just started will not have information. It needs a connection to the network to get information. A connection is made by creating a channel.
